Animate Arts Company is a participatory arts company based in Kent, delivering inspiring and memorable art workshops and projects since 2002. We offer people, local communities and schools the opportunity to engage in high-quality, creative experiences, because we believe passionately that creativity can positively animate everyday lives, bring people together and empower us all to get more involved in our communities. Our work therefore often explores themes of well-being, community cohesion and local heritage.
Animate Arts has a team of professional artists, performers and creatives who pride themselves on creating thoughtful interactive projects for audiences and participants of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We collaborate, consult and support participating groups through workshops and events and creating artworks for public audiences.
In recent years we have developed a specialism of work around paper and cardboard. We have become renowned for our life-size installations made entirely from paper matter. From sitting rooms to shops to gardens, we build worlds that audiences can step into. Some of our projects have included the national award-winning 'The Paper Apothecary' and The Garden of England installation for The Commonwealth Games Baton relay in Kent.

Animate delivered a workshop to staff at our junior school on creating sketchbooks. The staff all loved it and we are now inspired to get the children making books not just for art, but in other subjects as well. I highly recommend them!
